Answer
Hello Nick,

         How 'bout the thermostat?
          Is the engine properly timed?
        Is the cam,dist.,and crankshaft aligned?
Make sure that you have unobstructed air flow to radiator.
Make sure intercooler(a radiator for air to cool)is unobstructed.
Did you or a previous owner use "Stop leak" to cure a leak?..Not a great idea...it can seal little passages and cause a overheating problem.
A problem with the cat.converter?...I doubt it.
