Volvo Repair: Air Conditioning, pressure ports, auto parts store

Question
I own a 1996 Volvo 850 turbo sedan and am having trouble locating the high and low pressure ports of the A/C system.  A/C is not cooling and was going to try the do it yourself refigerant from the auto parts store as a first step.

Answer
Hell Brett,  The charging port is the low pressure sd. only,it is located pass.sd. front engine area.Right across from the pwr.ster.pully a 19mm socket is needed to remove it.Now,if its tight ,I mean you need some effort to turn it,she may be a 'virgin', not ever serviced. However, probably not due to the fact that the 'evaporator cores' leaked because leaves and debris settled around it and that lead to poor drainning and it corroded and leaked. If you are the original owner,I believe that if the system is low on freon that 'core'is the cause.Have the 'pros'charge it with dye to find that or any other leaks. Thank you and good hunting!  PKD
