Volvo Repair: Question about Keyless Entry, volvo s70, 1998 volvo s70

Question
I have a 1998 Volvo S70 sedan with two non-Volvo keyless entries programmed for it.  I am interested in buying another keyless entry (specifically made for my Volvo S70) and adding it to my car.  What do I need to do to program it so it works for my car?  Also, the alarm for my car doesn't go off when it should, and I was wondering if it needs to be re-programmed also.  I just recently bought this car from a used car lot, and I don't have much information about it.  Thank you very much!

Answer
Hello Matt,  Well here's what ya gotta do,go to the local dealer.Ask them to run your VIN# in thier volvo database and a copy of the read-out.It will contain all warr.info, and the tech data of your cars production variant.Thats 'what it came with' stuff.Yes the keys need to be programed to your car and only they can do it.Order an Owners manual while you're there. You'll be glad you did.The S-70 platform is very reliable and sturdy.Thank you and good hunting!  PKD
