Volvo Repair: 01 S80 Interior Fan on after car is off, hunting, high speed

Sometimes when I return to my car the interior fan is on and cant be shut off, also no lights on either.  Only way to get control is to turn car on.  My conern is that the battery will be dead when I return?  Thanks!

Hello Bill,  First thing ,stay calm,your car may have what is called 'after blow 'engage.That is a feature that turns on your cabin fan for 5 min.at high speed,to 'blow dry 'the a/c evaportor.It designed to activate,55 min after you turn off the car,when the a/c has been on for at least 5 min.As for 'no lites' the a/c panel lites won't be on.This feature will re-set when you start the car.Thank you and good hunting!  PKD
