Volvo Repair: 2000 Volvo S80 rough idling, vacuum hoses, volvo s80

Question
Hi there Regis. I've been having problem with my car's idling. I told the dealer the kind of problem I have and they told me that I probably need to have the throttle body cleaned and probably changed vacuum hoses. I want to give the cleaning of the throttle body a try so can you please tell me the exact procedure on how to take it apart so I can clean it myself. If you can also please tell me the locations of the vacuum hoses and the procedures on how to change it would be a great help and very much appreciated. Thank you Regis in advance. Have a great day.

Answer
not sure which hoses they are refering to.as for the throttle it depends if it is a turbo or nonturbo.turbo will be much harder to do.a nonturbo is fairly easy on this one you just remove the top halfe of the intake manifold which is held on by about 8 10mm bolts then you can clean the throttle.you may want to remove the hose under the throttle or put a rag below the throttle plate in the hose before spraying to rmovethe fluid just remember to remove the rag.if you do not use a rag or remove the hose it will just take alot of cranking to get it started but it will start.
