Volvo Repair: transmission acting up, 1995 volvo 960, volvo 960

Question
1995 volvo 960 sedan. Transmission is taking off in high gear and the arrow is lit on the dash.  The selector buttons for the transmission settings(winter,economy,sport) flash back and forth.

Those flashing lights means that there has been a fault recorded inside the transmission computer.  It would need to be investigated by a shop that is able to read the computer codes and give a proper diagnosis.  If it is an electrical fault then the repair would be for the labor to fix the failed component plus the part.  If there is a transmission failure somewhere that the transmission control has set a code for then the transmission would have to be replaced.  There are no parts available for transmissions.  Its either a control circuit or the whole transmission.  Hope that helps.
