Volvo Repair: Volvo 740 GL 1989 8 valve transmission maintenance, volvo 740 gl, torque convertor

Question
I just got the car with 133K miles and the previous owner was negligent on maintenance. I have changed fluids- oil, differential, power steering, and transmission. Only 2 quarts came out of trans. Will be droping the pan to clean fliter and replace gasget.

Should I disconnect the lines to drain the torque convertor? How about adding a product to clean the transmission like Auto RX? They claim it will clean both engine and transmission removing varnish or crud buildup.

Thanks

Answer
sorry for the late answer I did not recieve notice til now.there is a way to drain all the fluid there is information on this I believe at www.brickboard.com.to have it done properly I would have a shop do it that has a trans flushing machine this will use an additive to clean the trans. and an additive to help condition the inside of the trans.
