Volvo Repair: Check Engine Light, inner tie rods, emissions test

Question
I have a 1999 Volvo S70 - my check engine light went on and I flunked my emissions test.  I brought it to Monro Muffler (thought would be cheaper than bringing to Volvo) they charged $328 to replace 02 sensor.  I drove out of parking lot and light went back on - they now say it is the rear 02 sensor.  I have only had this car for 2 years and this is the 3rd time the check engine light has gone on.  Can I turn it off myself?  The service light is on now too - and I don't need service - I just spent $1200 for brakes, oil, inner tie rods.  Can I turn service light off?  I loved Volvos until I actually bought one.  Please help.

Answer
you might still love that volvo had you gone to the dealer which can be cheaper sometimes in the long run.

turn the ignition key to position 1 then press and hold the tripometer reset button then turn the key to position 2.hold the button til the service light flashes 2 times then release the button and then turn the key to off position.
