Volvo Repair: 98 S70 noise in right front, bad wheel bearing, noisey

Question
Hi

I had my tires rotated recently.  When I drove the car after, there was this strange buzzing sound in the right front.  I put up with it for a while.  The tire guys said my tire was out of balance and became "feathured".  I rotated the tires back and it is still making the noise, even worse.  They tell me the brake pads/rotor are about shot, They have about 40K miles on then, assuming they were new when I bought the cerified pre-own car.  Also, my brake light came on briefly this morning.  The vibration is loud.  It drowns out the stereo.  Any ideas?  Could worn out brake pads make noise?  Help?

Answer
sounds like possibly a bad wheel bearing.try driving down the road at the speed you hear it then swerve left and right this will put more load on one front tire than the other causing a bearing noise to get louder.if you turn left and hear it get louder it is the right bearing that is bad because this has more weight loaded towards it when turning left.turning right will make the left one noisey if bad.
