Volvo Repair: starting, neutral safety switch, turbo auto

Question
i have a 1992 940 est 2.0L turbo auto. sometimes when the engine is hot (after a good run)it wont start. ie ignition lights are on but the engine does not turn. like trying to start up in drive. give it anything up to an hour and its away like there wasnt a problem. apart from that it runs fine. please help. cheers Martin

Answer
Sounds like you're describing a no-crank condition. Try wiggling the shifter when it doesn't start or to try starting it in neutral. You may have bad neutral safety switch . Also check all your cable connections at battery and starter and at block for good ground.
One of these should fix your problem
