Volvo Repair: Glove box door lock repair, glove box, latch

Hello Regis,

1994 850 Turbo Sedan
The glove box door lock is broken and unable to open the door because the latch appeared to be broken.  I am interested in finding out what and how to fix the latch?  Is the only solution is to drill the panel and replace the entire door panel?  Any suggestion would be appreciated.

I cut the latch with a hack saw blade.just the blade not in a handle.I pull on the left side of the door or wedge a large screwdriver handle in the left side then I use the blade to cut the latch that is connected to the dashboard.being careful not to cut the dash or glovebox.you will need to buy a new handle for the glovebox which comes with the piece that is broken.you will also need the latch piece that you cut off.most dealers should know hwta pieces you will need.then to replace the handle you remove the back off of the inside of the door.
