Buick/Olds: 1990 buick drivers side window, buick lesabre, carraige

Question
I have a 1990 Buick Lesabre.  The front drivers side window motor is out and I really dont want to go through the expense of fixing it.  The problem is... that there is no window (it shattered) is there any possible way to just replace the window and raise the carraige and permanently affix it in the up position?

Answer
Hey Deborah, there sure is a way to do that.

If you get the window itself replaced at an auto glass retailer, they can simply put the glass in the same track as the old one. Then the lifting bars can simply be manually raised into place and locked there with a stick of metal.

All you (or someone) would need to do is to unhook the lifting bar (the horizontal bar)from the motor and lock it in place with a bar of metal. I've seen this done many times.

Best of luck to you.
