Question
QUESTION: I have an 1981 Cadillac fleetwood d elegance 4 door sedan with a 6.0 l (368) engine in it and the problem I am having is that I replaced what I believed was an bad ECM unit because all I was receiving on that unit were two dots and the fuel display was not showing anything so I bought a another ECM (used)and I check the codes and the codes I received on the ECM are 23, 32, 33, 34, 45, and 61.
ANSWER: CLEAR the codes from the computer FIRST and see which ones return..

When you see .7.0 after the codes display. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and HI buttons until you see .0.0 and then release the buttons. Turn off ignition for 30 seconds then recheck for codes and tell me which codes come back and how many times each code displays.

Answer
replace the IDLE SPEED CONTROL MOTOR (ISC) as there is a short in the nose switch of the motor. You may or may NOT have to adjust the new ISC. Check to see if there are internal instructions in the box.

Once you get the ISC replaced, CLEAR the code 27 from the computer.
