I saw a similar example sent 5-29-05 about a catera 1998 with a start problem. I see that Sandy the owner replaced the starter, alternator, and battery with no results. You sent her back to the starter which she had aready changed. My car began to act up about 3 weeks ago with symptoms very similar. Starting after sitting for a while. I even had it placed on a diagnostic tester and nothing! The car has now begun to cut off while driving. What to do please help if possible. Thanks!

Is the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT illuminating on the dash panel ?.
Does the engine crank but just won't start OR is there no sound at all when you turn the key ?.
When it cuts off while driving will it restart right away ?.
The check engine light does come on, not all the time though. The engine is cranking over but not starting. when it has cut out it will restart after sitting a while.
Answertake the car to any autozone and they will put a scanner on the vehicle and have them write down the code(s) and let me know what they are.
Before you leave have them CLEAR the codes. If the check engine light illuminates on your way home or comes back on right away. have them re-scan it and let me know what codes re-appear.
