Car Alarms: PT Cruiser Alarm, resident technicians, alarm sounds

I recently bought an 06 PT Cruiser and it came from an auction. Because of this fact, there was no key fob to go with the car.

I didn't realize that I needed a key FOB to disable the alarm system and now every time I unlock the car with the key, the alarm sounds and it is really annoying.

The dealership stated that double locking will turn the alarm off, and I am unsure what double locking is. I have tried locking it from the inside and then locking it from the outside as well and nothing seems to work. In about a week or two I will be able to afford a key FOB and I am desperate to turn the alarm off until then.

Please Please Please help, my neighbors need you to help me too!
