Chevrolet: motor problems, chevy lumina, oil treatment

i had an emergency last night and i had my 1992 chevy lumina going pretty fast know there is a tapping in the motor. what does that mean and what should i do to fix it?

  HI- I hope that all is ok with the emergency now.
Well the first thing you should do is to check the oil. if it is low add a can of STP  to it. if it is dirty  have it changed , filter too and a can of STP added to it. you might just have a little valve tap. or you could even be low on oil. if it still doesnt go away than you might have to have it looked at.  but  check the oil a.s.a.p.  OK     >>>< STP  is a oil treatment and I swear by it. and use a good brand of 10w/40 oil..
