Chevrolet: Heater coil for 1995 chevy cavalier, chevy cavalier, heater coil

Question
I know my vehicle falls outside the 'year range' you've stated, but just don't know where else to go.

Our 1995 cavalier has been overheating for a few years and we've had everything replaced to try and fix the problem except the Heater Coil.  3 mechanics at three different garages have advised us to replace the Heater Coil which they've said "should fix the problem".  They've all said this would be extensive and costly, since they'd have to remove the entire dashboard to gain access.  How much should i expect to pay? and just how 'extensive' is it? thanks, jeff in fort worth, Jme2295557@aol.com

Jeff ;
 HI - well as far as the ( heater core ) it should cost around 100.00 +/- but the  time & labor is what will cost you.I would first get a presshure test on the system to see if there is something wrong someplace else , as even a bad rad. cap can cause you to over heat , or a bad hose sucking it self close.It is not a super  job but it can be a  bit of time , I see no reason why if it was taken in at the start of the day it should be done  by the close of the day.  ok
