Chevrolet: 99 CHEVY MONTE CARLO A/C, electric vacuum pump, chevy monte carlo

Question
I HAVE AN A/C ISSUE THAT I CANNOT FIND ANYTHING FOR ON THE INTERNET. WHENEVER I ACCELERATE AND MY A/C IS ON, THE COLD AIR FROM THE PANEL VENTS WILL STOP BLOWING UNTIL I REACH A STEADY SPEED AGAIN. THE FANS ARE STILL GOING AND IT ALMOST FEELS LIKE THE AIR IS TRANSFERED TO THE FLOOR VENTS JUST UNTIL I STOP ACCELERATING. ANY ASSISSTANCE WOULD ME GREAT

Answer
Hi Zach, the air duct controls are vacuum operated in your car. some cars have an electric vacuum pump to assist with vacuum ( im not sure what your car has i haven't worked on gm since the mid 90s) what is happening is that when you accelerate you engine has no vacuum until it is at cruising speed again, so maybe the electric assist is not working or you have a fuse blown or not there. I hope this helps you if you need more info just let me know. Regards, Keith.
