Dodge: 83 Dodge PU shifting problems, delay action, atf

Question
The tranny has fluid at proper level. Will shift into reverse and into first but will not shift into 2nd or 3rd. Any suggestions on what it is? Started to have a delay action going into gear when cold. Then it started taking longer to shift into 2nd when cold.

If this is a Chrysler, you do have the correct fluid right? You are using Chrysler ATF-3? Sounds like the tranny is pretty worn. Clutch bands maybe, or just needs a good flush. Is it fine when it's warm? Let me know if you have any other info.
