Question - Ram man,   I think that I could figure this out myself if I knew some of the finer points of this system, like just how that low pressure transducer works. Would it cause the relay to open if the pressure went high? Almost has to be something in the system to cause the computer to shut the system down. [ clutch won't kick in until you shut key off and restart motor]Every thing I've done points to a restriction in the line somewhere.[holding relay close caused release of freon]I don't know any more that I could tell you. Since my last follow up, I spoke to a person that said something about a capalarry tube might be plugged. I didn't get to probe his brain because his friends were done teeing off.[golf] As to taking to a dealer to find the problem, was you joking. The car is a 95 and not worth the $2000 bill I would get, plus I can't afford two months retirement.  Tim

Question - The relay works find.[read first post] I think there is a restrition somewhere in the system. Does this system have a pressure switch that would shut down the clutch if the pressure went high? Your answer makes me wonder if your up enough on A/C to answer my questions.

Question - The line is not busted and there are no leaks because the system held freon for the last year. I have a recharge kit that has a meter that shows state of charge. It said that system is full. It acts like is't plugged up and freon can't get though the system. I look where I thought that release of freon was and there is a connection that is helded togeather with a spring thing. I think it just spread apart enough under high pressure to dump a little freon. Is there a place that could be pluged a little?
a/c cluch wouldn't kick in. changed low pressure transducer [switch]   now a/c will come on for about 20 seconds and then shuts down and won't come back on until you turn key off. Does put out cold air when running. I held the cluch relay closed and about 40 or so seconds and there was a release of freon from some line below the compressor. ?
Answer -
to little freon can cause this, but if you have a leak you'll need to have a garage look at it.sounds like it busted a pressure line or valve.keep the compressor off until you have it checked, but if it does they will have to pull a vacuum on the system and recharge it.This freon also works as an oil for the compressor to keep it lubed so running the compressor can cause the compressor to lock up.
Answer -
try changing out the clutch relay.

Tim,
You asked me the questions and i answered them based on what i'm told. This site is to try and help people. If i'm not helping you then go find a dealer that can fix it the first time or sweat...Don't take this personal!

Answer
Tim,
Yes i was joking when i said that,i was reading up on the air conditioning and i want to forward this to a buddy of mine that's up to par on this type stuff bare with me we'll figure it out.I was just saying that this site is just to try and help people with problems they are experiencing, and in no way should they be held liable for an answer that doesn't work. We're just here to try to help.No harm meant.Let me forward this and i'll respond back when i hear from him.RamMan
He said that the high pressure would cause the problem you are experiencing with your a/c.And this would cause freon to spew.
