Dodge: 1995 Dodge Neon, rock bottom price, dodge neon

Question
We are considering purchasing a Neon at a rock bottom price of 200 dollars. The car's current owner cannot get it to stay running. He says it is possibly the "map sensor". This is an 80 dollar part, non-refundable after purchase. The car will start but does not stay running, is this an indication of possibly something different wrong with the car? I would hate to pay for a part that is not bad.

Answer
This could be one in a thousand problems, but yes the map sensor could be the problem. But you can nickel and dime yourself to death replacing parts. And most of the parts you try are non-refundable due to installing the parts. This is just a gamble you will have to take for this kind of deal.
