Ford: 2002 ford f-150, ford f 150, broken frame

Question
It is only a small problem I have but it is an annoying one.  My drivers seat wont lock in the upright position so it stays constantly forward.  I can drive it with my weight keeping it back but springs back every time no one is sitting in it or holding it back.  how do I access the mechanism? This happened to the other front seat but fixed itself about a week later.  Please help.  Thank you.

Answer
Hello.

I have checked recalls and bulletins, but no known complaints.

To see what needs to be repaired, you need to remove the seat and turn it upside down, the side covers come off exposing the pivot mechanism.  You can easily strip the seats down to the frames, but you shouldn't need to go that far.

Don't be suprised to find a broken frame.  The seats in all vehicles are made from srap recycled materials and don't last.
