Ford: How to do a simple radiator through the engine flush, radiator hoses, radiator flush

Question
Hello Robert,my name is Rick,i own a 95 Ford Probe 4 cyl,a mechanic recently told me that i probably need a new radiator along with a full flush,as there is a lot of brown gunk that is all built up around the radiator cap(probably stop leak)-anyway he is looking at $350.00 to $400.00 for the full service, and i figured-what the hell how hard can it be to do it myself, for less than half that price,so if you could take me step by step as to how to do this,i would really appreciate it,i'm replacing the old radiator with a new one and before installing the new one i'd like to flush all the crap outta the engine-any help is much appreciated!!!  Thanks Much.  Sincerely,Rick Beemster Chicago,Illinois

Answer
it is pretty easy honestly... to do the flush you are going to need to remove the upper and lower radiator hoses. than you will want to start the engine and let it run for a bit to warm up... (Appx 2 - 3 min...) then you will take your garden hose and stick it in the uppwe radiator hose and turn it on until clear water comes out the other radiator hose... That is the easy at home way to do it... you an also go to your local auto store and buy some radiator flush and follow the directions on the bottle.... Good luck and sorry for the delayed responce...
