Ford: Tilt steering wheel & turn signal, autowrecker, steering wheel

Question
The pick-up in question is a 91' F-150. The only problem I can find is that the turn signal won't click into place, further the tilt-lock doesn't work. (wheel falls if pulled on). I'm interested in buying this truck but not interested in inheriting major problems. Any advise?

Answer
My personal opinions aside on this I recommend pricing out a used column from an autowrecker or a pick and pull type place. You need to overall rate the pickup. there are a lot of pieces there inside a column that can give you massive concerns. there is a nut that holds down the steering wheel unless it is the pivot part of the shaft that is damaged. Then there are bearings at the top and bottom of the column and they are not the most exciting to replace. I just recommend finding a used column and be done with it. Swap out your key and tumbler and your rolling. Hope this helps.
