Ford: 1997 Ford taurus, 1997 ford taurus, fuel injection system

Question
I am stationed in Germany and on Feb. 6, 2005 while exiting the autoban (highway) my Ford Taurus shut off on me. I have been trying all week to start it but it will not turn over. Also when it shut off the temperature shot up. We have checked and seen if the coil pack is providing a spark and it is. Also the battery is very weak. I even changed them out thining I had a bad battery. Any help you could provide I would appreciate it very much.

Answer
Samuel,

It could be several things. I will provide you with a few things to check to see if you can trouble shoot your vehicle. It could be a fault in the fuel injection system, y our battery discharged (you will need to check your electrical components as well as making sure that your battery terminal connections are not loose or corroded), faulty fuel pump or fuel injector, excessive moisture on the ignition components, worn/faulty/incorrectly gapped spark plugs, borken/loose/disconnected wiring in the starting circut, distributor is loose, broken/loose/disconnected wires at the igintion coil or the coil is faulty. Hope that this helps and if you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me again and I would be happy to try and help you further. Good luck.
