Ford: Cylinder Heads, cylinder head gaskets, asking the right questions

Question
He bought the gaskets at an O'Reilly's Auto Parts store and the clerk said they didn't have that info. Besides you didn't answer my question about the year model of the engine being unknown.
I thought you guys were 'experts' and had some real info available. I guess I was misinformed.
Thanks for nothing.
Sincerely,
Henry Ratcliff

Question -
My nephew is replacing the cylinder head gaskets on a 1976 Ford F150 with a 390cid engine.
The guy he bought the truck from said that isn't the original engine but he didn't tell my nephew what this engine was out of.
Will there be a significant differenct in the torque values for 390 heads from different year models and if so how would he go about finding out what torque values to use? Also what is the tightening sequence? We need the torque values and tightening sequence for the intake manifold also. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Henry Ratcliff
Answer -
Henry just go to your parts store and  they should tell you or look thru a book for that eng .they should have motor, chiltons ect.it be a good idea to by one if he is going to a lot of work himself.

Answer
Dear Henry I'm sorry that you feel that way it's my fault I forgot that some people walk on water and are so much smarter then us . How about giving us more info like the eng # that is located on the block . try sending that info or asking the right questions.O by the way the parts stores around here will give you that info .I depends upon the person themselves and how much business you do with them.If you would of listen  to what I told you in the BOOK  if you would of open one up it tells you HOW to determine the difference in the eng. and what year it from  from the eng.ID #.
