Question - I have owned this car since it was new and have been the only one under the hood of it with exception of a transmission filter and oil change. The heads have never been off. Here's the VIN # though:
IFALP624IVHI33358.
Thanks Alot!

Reply - Yes, once about a year ago. The engine will smoke very little when it is cold and slowly fade out as it warms up. There is also a little moisture in the exhaust during warm up. Compression on all the cylinders are pretty consistant. Checked vacuum and all hoses and vac units look good. The engine will idle with about 20 inches of vac. The only codes that really keep comming back after warm-up and driving are the PO155 and PO161. I hope you're not thinking "cracked head". If this is the case shouldn't I be able to run a pressure tap in at the temp sensor and see surges in the pressure guage?
Thanks,
Chris

Question -
"I have had severe problems with the catalytic converter sensors on this vehicle. I am getting the following faults on my code reader; PO155,PO161,PO135,& PO141.I have changed spark plugs & wires, found two dribbling injectors on bank 2(replaced all three), the catalytic converter was rattling internally (I cut it out and replaced it(mesh was comming apart),had the other two converters tested(OK). Replaced HO2 & O2 sensors on bank 2 with new converter. I also checked the HEGO fuse, it was good! Faults 155&161 show up first then the engine starts to run rough and then the 135&141 faults appear. I am assuming that the latter faults are due to the computer trying to adjust the fuel ratio to compensate for the first set of faults! I also put on a new ignition coil pack but there was no change. I took it back. My biggest concern is knowing what criteria the computer looks for from these particular sensors, and how it compares the readings from each.
Thanks for your Help!

Answer -
What i would do first is ck for vacumm leaks is this a 3.8 or 4.6?
Reply -
The car has a 3.8L V-6 engine. I have not located any vacuum leaks yet. What would be the min/max vacuum ranges to look for in case I have hose that might be sealing off under low vac pressure. All the ones I have checked so far will hold around 18 inches of vacuum fairly well.

Has this vehicle ever overheated. or does it read high on the guage? Is there any kind of smoke comming out of the exhaust?
Answer -
