The problem is the truck will start to ping like an octane ping underload at speed it will then drop out a cylinder or more until you let off and the truck can pick itself back up. Where its been, 3 dealerships and thru many mechanics.list of things done, changed
1.cap,rotor,wires,plugs
2.all filers,pcv
3.thermostat,temp sender, clutch fan
4.all injectors,IAT sensor,O2 sensor
tests done,
1.compresion test ran from 155 to 160 across the board
2.its been on almost every brand of scaner avalible and pulls no codes
3.leak down tests(good)
4.talked to ford service tech for an hour.with no ideas other than to start changing out parts
(which i can't afford)
5.verified actual temp, vacume test.(good)
thats about all i can think of if you have any ideas they would be greatly aprecciated?
there's alot of stumped people working on this one. P.S sorry about spelling

not so hard what i would do first is remove the egr valve and inspect it also see if the holes are clog up. i'll tell you why because if it gets stuck open it won't throu a code because it's mechanical it has no sensor in it.The one it has is just to sense position .also if it stuck open a little bit it will cause it to run lean witch will give you a ping and cause a stall at times.let me know and we will do a step by step
Hello again changed EGR no differance the truck still pinging underload the 3 dealerships are not willing to go much further with it they have been on the tech line constantly and have come up with nothing new ,truck drives fine around town but not on highway or with a trailer anywhere unless its to the floor and in low gears.the dealers by the way are ford dealers and one multi-dealer so its really ok help. just have a really weid problem thanks for any help you can give.thanks again

ok let me know if you have access to any scaner and we will go into pids and ck your single return

I can get a snap-on scanner to use. We have run a real time test to check that all readings looked normal when it was at ford of branford and at home with the snap-on scanner everything looks good. For haha's and because i had one, I canged the mapp sensor still no change. soon i'll have changed every sensor there is. hope to hear from you soon thanks again.

Answer
what i want you to do is one more thing before we get into a pinpoint test. go to the dist and you will see what we call a spout plug this is the plug that you unplug when you ck your timing in need to know what your timing is set at .if it is set at 10 degs. at tdc then what i want you to do is drive it with the plug out and see if it still pings.get back with me
