GM-GMC: brakes, 1972 chevy blazer, caliper pistons

Question
I have recently started up my 1972 Chevy Blazer after sitting for 5 years. When I stop it pulls violently to the left and after driving a few blocks the right front wheel is smoking and you can smell brake material. Any suggestions?

Answer
My suggestion would be to disassemble the front and the rear brakes completely.  Clean all the contact, pivot or sliding points then lubricate with a decent silicone grease.  Make sure the caliper pistons move freely in and out of the caliper.  Ensure none of the wheel cylinders are seized or leaking.  Check your flex hoses for cracks and bleed the brakes system unitl all the old fluid is out.  Brake fluid is hydoscopic, meaning it absorbs water, if it has been sitting it would be advisable to flush all the fluid out and replace it will new fluid.  The good news is parts should be relatively cheap for that truck.  The pulling is likely a result of a sticking or seized caliper.
Hope this helps.
