GM-GMC: 2001 gmc, gmc yukon xl, gmc yukon

I have a 2001 GMC yukon XL I have looked into buying new rotors for my truck and they ask me if it is limited slip or non limited slip. how do i find out and does it really make a difference.

I have never been asked that question anywhere when buying rotors.   Usually they just need to know the outside diameter of the rotor which is often stamped into the face of the rotor..  Easiest way.  Take one rotor off and take it in to the parts store.  As for how to know what rear end you have in your truck.  You will need to return to the dealer with your VIN and ask them to check the option codes.
