GM-GMC: 96 Chevy...Rear Turning signals out, and brake lights out!, brake light switch, brake switch

I own a 96'chevy p/u 1500 cheyenne and the Rear Turning signals and brake lights went out...ive checked all my fuses inside the cab and under the hood, they are fine. ive checked my ground and it is fine ...i checked all the bulbs like interchanging them and they all worked...need some help!Could it be the flasher unit messing everything up..it works sometimes...

It could be the flasher or the brake light switch.

The flasher is easy to check:  Just switch it out with the one for the four way flashers, or buy a new flasher unit.

The brake switch is hard to reach, but it may be bad.  If you are handy with a volt-ohmmeter, try to get the connector off the switch and check for 12 Volts on one of the wires that comes into the connector.  If voltage is present, try jumping the two wires together and see if the brake lights come on.  If they do, you have a bad switch.
