Honda: starter problem, genuine honda parts, battery cables

Question
bought car off a friend and he had replaced the starter at least 3 times since 95' car is a 90' with 105k miles the starters have been autozone rebuilds i have replaced one also and the same problem to first time i tryed it. it will turn most times but, sometimes it does nothing. could it be something else or just junk starters.
 thank you

Answer
well noah, first thing I will ALLWAYS recommend is Genuine Honda parts, nothing better for a honda(I know they cost more but its worth it in the long run)the original starter problem was probably just the contacts inside the solenoid, common problem and an easy fix,now you have an after-market part and I just plain dont trust them.To be sure if your starter is the culprit check the battery cables, make sure they are clean and tight, check the connection at the starter(I will assume the battery has a good charge)If all that is ok the next step is to check for voltage at the smaller wire at the time the engine wont turn over(obviously you will need an assistant)DONT FORGET TO BLOCK THE WHEELS AND SET THE PARK BRAKE.if it has power with the key in the start position then you have a bad starter or solenoid contacts are worn out...let me know
