Mazda: Guidance for buying a 99 10th anniversary, speed tranny, rx 7

Question
JB -
I have the opportunity to buy a 10th anniversary Miata here in Houston.  21,000 miles.  Should be able to look at it this week.
My question:  is there anything in particular I should look for/worry about.  I know a good deal about cars, worked for a used car lot when young, but don't know a lot about Miata's - except that I fit (barely) in the newer ones and didn't in the first model style.
I was particularly curious about whether the 6 speed tranny was as reliable as the "normal" one.
Any feedback is apprciated.
I am probably going to buy SOME Miata soon; maybe even new.  The old 91 RX-7 is slowly wearing out.
Thanks.

Answer
Hi Robert-
Glad you are considering a Miata - great cars. The more I learn about them the more I like and its a great community of people that are very helpful.
The only thing to look for on a 1999 10AE is to be sure it had its oil changes. At only 21k, not much can really happen.  They are VERY strong cars and run well past 150k with basic maintenance.  Also check www.miata.net or www.miataforum.com for more info than you wanted to know!
Good luck-
JB
