Mazda: Mazda Eunos 1.8i Roadster Air bag light (1995), mazda eunos, operational check

The problem is that after turning on the ignition, the air bag goes out and comes back on permanently. Why is that please? What is faulty?

Answer
The system has a fault and is not operational.  Check the main fuses first otherwise the main control unit for the SRS has failed.  The issue was a Mazda recalled item for 1995, not sure if it is still valid and being addressed by dealers or not.  The unit is located mid firewall under the dash, dashboard removal is required to access the unit.
