i need the location of the temperature sending gauge switch on the diesel engine

Look on the engine block near where the water hose enters the top of the engine. Be sure and drain the radiator coolant low enough to allow removal without letting fluid out over the engine.
The sending unit may have a single wire with plastic shield or two wires with shield, or it may be a hard flexible copper tubing looking thing (thermocouple) that goes from the sending unit through the firewall into your gauge.
