Mercedes: merc 260e, spark plug wires, blue spark

while driving motor cut out,thought it was fuel,refueled but still wont start,motor turns but wont fire up

Sounds like the over voltage relay fuse is out, or your have lost functionality with the the ignition switch.
Get a spark plug and remove one of your spark plug wires. Install the wire and lay the plug on the engine for a good ground.
In the shade, or low light condition have someone try to start the car. You should have a bright blue spark. If you have none then you will know that is is in the electrical system.
Could be several things.
After you have run this test to make sure you have spark, email me back with your results.
