QuestionHello, I have a couple of questions, I recently was given an 86 Mercedes 300e from my aunt who is too old to drive. The car only has 100,000 miles on it and my aunt took great care of it. I love the car but I can't figure out how to disconnect the alarm system. The thing goes off all the time, I have tried using the key witht e red dot but it really doesn't do anything. Can you tell me how to disconnect the alarm or point me in the right direction. My second question is the car never starts right up, I either have to hold the key turned for 4 or 5 seconds before it starts or it might take me two times of turning the key to get it started. Does it just need a tune up or is something else a matter. Sorry for the long question, I would really appreciate any help you could give me.

Both issues may be related to the failing alarm system.
You can not disable/disconnect the alarm system in any easy way.
This vehicle runs part of the ignition through the alarm system = disable/disconnect, and your car is dead.
Electrical skills are required to rewire the car.
