Hello, I bought a 1992 Mercedes Benz 300E 3.0L engine, a couple of months ago. What is bugging me about this car is that when accelerating from stopped, from 0-15mph it feels normal, then from 15-45mph the acceleration is very slow and in this period the RPM's do not go over 2000/min until the vehicle is going over 45mph. In total it takes 21 seconds to accelerate from 0-60mph. The engine has 116,000 miles, I know it is old but I think that it should be performing a little better than it is. I would really appreciate any help or advise that you could give as to what is the reason for this.
