Mitsubishi: Auto Trans doesnt shift out of low, eagle talon, automatic transmissions

Question
Dinger...
I have a '95 Eagle Talon with a DOHC 2.0L 16 valve engine.  The problem is the transmission doesn't shift out of low.  It feels solid when I go from Park to Reverse or Park to Drive or even Reverse to Drive.  I change the fluid and screen.  I even added a quart of Trans Medic (Carters) to no avail.  It started not shifting,  but then would occasionally shift and now it's not again.  I know most of the time it's an expensive trip to the Transmission Shop, but was hoping there was an somewhat easy fix.  I pretty mechanical, but haven't ventured into automatic transmissions yet.  What do you think Dinger?

Answer
Hi John,

First, if there was something in a bottle that would fix transmissions... ok, I bet you get what I mean. Second, you didn't mention if your CEL (Check Engine Light) was on. Changing fluid, if you looked at my previous posts, will do more harm than good. If the transmission is not shifting and there is no CEL lit, you are doomed to an overhaul and on that car, well... second mortgage?
