Mitsubishi: 1993 dodge stealth, attorney generals office, 1993 dodge stealth

Question
hey man, Jack with the 1993 stealth again. Its in the shop and the guy who originally replaced the clutch has it. He said it was the pressure plate that needed replaced because the clutch blew.He said I was driving it too hard. I only had the damn thing for 8 miles! He told me the warranty doesn't transfer owners and it would cost $450 to fix. I agreed. Then he called back today and said he had sent the flywheel to get cleaned and noticed it had a crack so he has to charge me for a new one $85.Now he told me the clutch was blown and it would be fixed for $450 so i asked if there was anything else up his sleeve and he said its possible its internal but he has run through all the gears and they seem to be catching just fine but it could be a different ballgame once they try to take a load and he won't know until he puts the clutch back on.This guy seems like he's stringing me along, telling me one thing one day and another the next. Is this guy fucking with me?How would the tranny and the clutch go out at the same time? Does it sound like he's prepping me to buy a new tranny? Is he trying to take me for all I'm worth BC Im  from out of town? What do you think? If so, is there any thing I can do to prevent this guy? I could once again use your expertise. Thanks for all your help brother.

Answer
This guy's not stringing you along, he's ripping you off! I wish you were here in Vegas, I would have gladly helped you out. You need to make a report to the BBB and the Attorney Generals office in his state. He's not charging you for a new flywheel because a new one is like $300. Warranties are on the parts in the car, not the person driving it. He will warranty those parts with whom ever he purchased them from because the guy he bought them from has no idea who he sold them to and then re-charge you. So he gets paid double on this job. This makes me boil when I see this Stuff. I am so sorry this is happening to you. I wish there was something I could do to help out. Make sure you get your old parts back at least. Make him show you the "crack".
