Nissan: 93 Sentra washer/temp/fuel gauge/speedo, fuel gauge, windshield washer

Question
I have experience with diagrams but don't have one this vehicle ( built in Mexico). Would you think perhaps it is more likely a loss of ground as many gauges operate on a resistance to ground and all are affected?  They wouldn't share the same sender wire.  Also, is there a separate fuse for the washer pump?  Thanks in advance.

-----Question-----
The windshield washer does not operate or make a noise when the switch is activated. Is there a separate fuse? Intermittently the fuel gauge and temp go to max readings( it is not filling itself up or overheating) and also intermittently the speedometer reads much higher than actual speed.  You thoughts, please.

All three of these gauges share the same circuit. Are you good a reading electrical diagrams?? It sounds like something is grounding out on you. Alos note that behind your dash is a printed circuit which may also be the problem. Pull the cluster out and look behind it. Look for a pinched wire or bad connection. Start with that and advise me.

Answer
In order fall all of them to malfunction at the same time they need to share a common wire. Moving gauges work through resistance. If you grab the ground wire at the sending unit and apply it directly to ground with the key on the fuel gauge should go all the way to full. If you ground the temp sending unit for the temp gauge directly to ground it will do the same. Thats why I think you have a common ground that is shared and it going to ground before its resistance point, hence the gauges all moving up. Washer is separate. If the fuse is good find the motor connector under the washer bottle. Take a test light and check for 12 volts to the motor when you pull the switch. If you have this check the ground. If you have power and ground, the motor is shot. If not, you need to find out where you are loosing your power or gorund and repair it. Usually its the switch itself.
