Pontiac: Firebird lights, plastic molding, firebird

Hi my 1986 firebird with a 305 has of course the flip up lights.  When i bought the car they were going up but not down.  I checked the plugs and they seemed all fine.  i bought new motors and installed them and they continued to only go up.  I installed new relays and a new switch and they still only go up.  I can't think of anyother reason why they won't go down when i shut off the lights.  if u have any suggestions i would really appreciate it.  i am also having trouble getting the plastic molding on the top of the door on the inside off becuase i need to replace the window motor and if u could tell me how to pop that off i would also appreciate it.  Thanks alot Dan

Ok, first the easy part. To get the door panel off, push in on the pastic part to release it from the door and them lift up. It should come right off.
Sounds like a wiring problem on the head lights. I haven't worked on one of these for a long time but if I remember right, there is a relay to go up and a relay to go down. You need to check all of the wiring to the down relay.
