Saab: Saab 9-3 2001 model, interior temperature, little knowledge

Question
Hi Jerry and thanks for all the info I've been reading.  I've determined that the interior temperature sensor motor continues to run to the point of running down my battery.  I've had the battery checked and it's good. I've unplugged and removed the sensor - but before I replace it - how can I be certain if it's faulty or if it's something "calling" for it to be on?  When this began two weeks ago - I've noticed when I start my car - it has begun to idle roughly until warmed up.  Not sure if the two are related or not.  I understand your expertise is pre-1990 but any advice is taken.  Thanks!

Answer
Jimmy:
I am sorry, but as an "oldtimer" I have very little knowledge about the motor running you spoke of; what I can suggest is to check for a "stuck-on" relay controlling the motor.
         Hope this helps,
         Jerry
