Saab: Constant air in the clutch liquid., Saab hydraulic clutch bleeding

Question
Saab 9-5 1999 . Very light clutch pedal. No leaks anywhere. when ever bleeding the clutch air comes out all the time I already replaced the master cylinder still no luck.If you know anything about this problem please let me know.   thank you

Answer
As stated in my profile, I do not have direct hands-on experience with your model SAAB. In general, I can say that bleeding the clutch (on the older 900s)is an annoying difficult task. It requires either a vacuum pump on the slave end or pressure on the master cylinder end. I do the latter by putting 5 psi air pressure into the master cylinder, having rigged up a tapered rubber plug and using a handle operated air pressure gun through the middle of the tapered plug which fits in the filler hole of the master cylinder reservoir.
The above will force brake fluid all the way through the system.

May I offer: Unless you just opened up the hydraulic system, the necessity for bleeding indicates a system fault. The slave cylinder can leak in such as way as to be almost undetectable from the outside. Mere bleeding will be a temporary solution at best.

 Hope this helps,
