Saab: 900i not starting, erratic action, square 1

Question
hello,

car running fine day before last.  got in to start it yesterday and would not turn over.  lights on dashboard came on as normal but no power. could hear power draining down.  my hazards began to flash automatically and would not go off until i had turned the key a few times.  gave it a jump start.  started immediately, took it for a drive, all ok.  turned engine off and then started again. all ok.  turned it off and left it overnight.  next day back to square 1.

help!!

Answer
Akilah:
It sounds like a short-circuit in the starter or solenoid...the solenoid could be 'sticking'. The short circuit could lower the battery voltage resulting in the erratic action of your flashers. Repeatedly turning the switch off & on apparently loosened the solenoid from its stuck position.
