Car Alarms: engineered hardwood floor scratches in top coat, engineered hardwood floor, hardwood floor scratches

I want a basic good car alarm....not all the bells and whistles, just want to
protect the car , doors, trunk, hood, etc and have siren go off when someone
tries to break in....we are using the Club right now and I want added protection.  
Do you have any recommendations?? Can most be installed by a person who is
mechanical and knows basic electronics?
