Saab: 1997 Saab 900 complicated electrical issue, continuity tester, robert bentley

Question
Hello , I'm working on a '97 Saab 900 that is driving me nuts , first it wasn't getting ground(signal) to the main relay (blue and gray? wire)of course no check engine light , finally I found the problem at the alarm module (under driver's seat left sill)replacing that module got the car running , but I still have fully energized relays(all in engine compartment , haven't checked under dash yet)whenever I hookup the battery....it means headlights , fan , run continuously with the key off..I've tried replacing the relays and nothing. With the key on the cluster warning lights all light up , and the turn signals and flasher don't work , also the defroster cannot be turned off!. This problem seemed to have fixed itself , but over night the  headlights came on by them self and I haven't been able to figure out the cause. Please help me out with this one...I'm up against a big lemon! Thanks , Jose.

Answer
As my description of experience states, I am not personally familiar with your SAAB. I can therefore only offer general suggestions. Sounds like a damaged, possibly overheated or flooded harness connector somewhere, resulting in shorts, opens, or both. You need a GOOD BOOK, such as one from the ROBERT BENTLEY series, a continuity tester(ohmmeter, etc), and lots of patience. Only then can you definitively locate the problem and properly address it, rather than hunting "here & there".
   Hope this helps.
