RV Repair: Flagstaff rubber roof repair, foam core construction, rubber roof

Question
I just purchased a 2000 Flagstaff 25LB from a private party. The RV was parked up against a house. When we got home we realized that the front side of the RV had some bubbling of the fiberglass side panel. I went up on the roof and found that there is some water damage underneath the front 2 feet of the rubber roof. I am very handy and feel that with some help I could repair this myself. It looks like I have to take off the strips holding down the rubber roof and peel back till I have no damage. What is typically underneath the rubber roof. It looks like the roof is a foam core construction from what I can see at the AC cutout. Underneath the damaged section it feels like there is swollen wood. Is there a Luan panel below the rubber roof? If I do attempt this repair, what kind of sealers and caulking do I need to seal everything back up?  Is there anything that can be done to fix the bubbling on the side as well or do you think that once the roof is repaired that will unbubble(is that a word) Thanks, John

Answer
Hi John,
Yes there should be luan or plywood under the rubber roof.  It sounds like you have the right idea, you will just need some rubber roof glue, lap sealant for the seams, and putty tape to put on the trim before you remount it.  As for the fiberglass the only thing you can do is try to get some adhesive in where it is delaminating and hold pressure on it until it dries.  Sometimes you can get to the area by removing a window or something, but if it's in the middle of the wall you may need to get a syringe and try to get glue in that way.  I hope this helps and good luck with your repair.
