Saab: SAAB 900 ELECTRICAL SHORT, saab 900, main beam

Question
Hi and Good Day,
I have a wonderful 900 a bit old but real reliable.  Recently it stopped on me restarted & nothing. Waited 10 mins and away I went.
Happened again within 5 mins just stopped. Tried several times to restart no joy. Swapped batteries, started but stopped again.  I noticed the main beam does not, go fuses =  ok.  Horn also not working but fuse = ok.   Still unable to start.
Could it be a Short somewhere. Please can throw some light on to what it may be.
Many Thanks New Zealand 900.

Answer
Paul:  Sounds like an "open' that is heat-related rather than a 'short', since you noted it showed up after running the engine a bit. Also, you did not mention whether the "no-start' condition was "no starter response" or starter cranking the engine with a "no catching response"; Any additional info regarding the exacting nature of your observations will help with the accuracy of any suggestions.
