Toyota: Pcv Valve, obd ii scanner, ebay

Would a bad Pcv Valve cause my check engine light to come on?  1998 Corolla

Kemp..  maybe?  LOL!  Alot of things can cause a check engine light to come on but in reference to the PCV valve.  Yes, it could cause an error if not working properly.  But, why guess?  I don't know if you have one in your state but Autozone offers the free service of checking the error code for you.  They'll tell you exactly what's setting it off and you can go from there.

Other than that, you'll need to find a mechanic who has an OBD-II scanner or Toyota scanner tool or you can EBay a OBD-II scanner tool:)
